Civil Engineering Services Land Surverying Services civil engineering design

C. M. Lavoie and Associates Inc. was selected to provide complete Civil Engineering and Land Surveying services for the new Isaac Singleton Elementary School in Joliet, Illinois. The new educational facility is the latest addition to the Joliet Public School District system and was named after the late Rev. Isaac Singleton, a prominent Pastor and Civil Rights Leader in Joliet. The CML engineering design team worked with Architects from Healy Bender Associates, Inc. to create an outstanding educational facility for faculty and elementary school students.

The civil engineering design incorporated the latest management practices including a pervious brick parking surface and a combined stormwater management facility located at the neighboring Silver Cross Hospital facility. A unique site design transformed the Gompers Junior High School property into a campus environment with two public schools on the same property. This heavily wooded site and steep grades required retaining wall systems to accommodate their new educational building. Our services included utility designs, grading, stormwater management analysis and design, retaining walls, pervious pavers, and a lift station. Permitting included the Army Corps of Engineers, IEPA, City of Joliet, and Will County. Coordination with Silver Cross Hospital was also required.
